In the current marketing year, the leading operators of grain exports are faced with a shortage of silo capacity to store its products. A record harvest in 2014 amounted to almost 65 million. Tons of which:

• wheat 24 million. tons;
• rye, about 1 mln. tons;
• barley 10 million. tons;
• corn 18 million. tons.

Leading market operators say the impossibility of simultaneous storage of such a large amount of grain. Particularly acute is the case with corn.

Lack of elevators could lead to a collapse in prices for this type of product, leading to a further decline in the growth rate of the economy as a whole, as the agricultural sector is one of the few who export products to the world market, which in turn provides a strong inflow of solid currency in Ukraine.

According to analysts until 2020 the agricultural sector may reach the level of harvest in the 80 - 85 million tons. At these rates yield the introduction of new elevator capacities, providing secure storage of the crop is becoming a strategic priority for the core businesses of the agricultural market of Ukraine.
